Odds & Ends

I'm an aunt again: Alyssa Rose Kowols, born June 27th at 2:30 AM, 7 lbs 1 oz. This makes an even dozen nieces & nephews.

Wonderful man, Steve Mack, died earlier this year. Friend from the Bristol RenFaire...Senor Manuel Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez was one of his character names, taken from one of the Clint Eastwood "spaghetti Westerns". So many of the Bristolians that I had made friends with have moved on to other venues, retired from the faire on a performing basis, and in Steve's case, passed away. :(

Am 13.5 lbs away from my own weight goal...too much yummy food in summer!

Have stitched up a passel of pieces as gifts for friends/acquaintances at Dragon*Con '08...see avatar for one of my costumes for this year. Gifts include one for George Takei and his partner, as an acknowledgement of their wedding this year. Have finished Miribilia's "Summer Queen" and have begun "Autumn Queen", but am taking a few days away from stitching...too warm to have that much fabric over one's legs anyway!

That's all for now...

Might I suggest to Track Directors...

I noticed that the YALit and Whedonverse track people have (on this Journal) listed where their tracks will take place...not the actual room designation, of course, but the hotel where the tracks will be.
I was thinking that this would be a good idea, especially as the con gets closer, to do this on the track's website, or at least on this Journal, if the track does not have its own website.
It looks as though tracks which have previously been in the Marriott are being moved over to the Hilton, due to the Marriott continuing renovations/construction. Anyone out there know if there will be anything at all in the Marriott?

And what do the track directors think about this suggestion?

Thanks!
